In a few years time, when all cars will be Electric Vehicles, (EV's),
27 million houses in the UK may think about an EV Car Charger at home. A lot of houses have 2 cars.

Life without a home charger could be difficult. With a lack of electric vehicle parking spaces at work, high offsite charging costs and travelling to and from and queuing at a remote charging site for hours is going to be highly likely soon. Which EV Pro model should I have installed?

If you have a 90kWh battery in your electric vehicle, then you may want a 22kW EV Pro Car Charger if you have a 3 phase supply, which can fully recharge your EV in just over 4 hours.

The basic EVA-07S-S is £100 cheaper but needs a separate ground spike fitted
which has an additional cost, which means that the EVA-07S-SE is favourable,

and the difference between the 2 different EVA-07S-SE's are
with or without RFID card readers, which costs an extra £100.

So, the popular choice is the EVA-07S-SE, non RFID option, fitted for £995.

Charge your car at home and save 81%

A typical small EV car has a 60kWh battery that can last around 220 miles.
A 7.3kW charger takes 8.2 hours to charge 60kWh battery (60 / 7.3 = 8.2).

If you are paying 14.24p/kWh at home (August 22),
that will cost you £8.52 with a 7.3kW charger or £8.46 with a 22kW charger.
The 22kW charger would be much faster at 2.7 hours, (60 / 22 = 2.7).

60 kWh Pro Car Charger compare cost

My Kuga Diesel is getting 45.5 mpg and now that costs £43.88 for every 220 miles.

1.999 per litre x 4.54 litres, or £9.075 per gallon which gives me 45.5 miles,
so 220 miles / 45.5mpg x £9.075 per gallon = £43.88 per 220 miles.

In August 2022, that is an incredible saving of 81% using the 7.3kW or 22kW chargers.

I wish my fuel supply was in the garden and cost 81% less!
No more travelling to the petrol station, just charge up overnight, at home!

It makes even more sense when the EV is coupled with a modern solar generator.

Charge faster with a 22kW charger

A larger EV car may have a 90kWh battery that may last around 220 miles.
A 7.3kW charger would take 12.3 hours to charge 90kWh battery (90 / 7.3 = 12.3).
In this case you may need a 22kW charger

If you are paying 14.24p/kWh at home (August 22),
that will cost you £12.79 with a 7.3kW charger or £12.84 with a 22kW charger.
The 22kW charger would be much faster at 4.1 hours, (90 / 22 = 4.1).

90 kWh Pro Car Charger example cost

Let us say a Range Rover sized diesel may get 30.0 mpg,
which now costs £66.55 for every 220 miles.

1.999 per litre x 4.54 litres, or £9.075 per gallon which gives me 30.0 miles,
so 220 miles / 30.0mpg x £9.075 per gallon = £66.55 per 220 miles.

In August 2022, that is an incredible saving of 81% using the 7.3kW or 22kW chargers.

It makes the most sense to have the 22kW charger for larger 90kWh batteries.

The 90kWh batteries takes 12.3 hours to charge on the smaller 7.3kW chargers.
You should aim to be fully charged in around 8 hours, usually overnight.

You may not always get a space at work and public chargers will charge
much more than the 14.24 pence per kWh that I pay at home, (August 2022).

Our EV Pro Car Charger comes with an industry beating 5 year warranty. Unlike many other models it does not need a separate ground spike or earthing connection, which saves you on the installation cost. For security, the RFID models use an RFID unit (Swipe Card Reader) and the EV car charger comes with 1 swipe card ready to use. (more can be purchased). There is a clear LED Charge Indicator light and with the 22kW models, there is an LCD menu screen.

For ease of use, the cable lock system - tethers the cable, the charger and the car. The leads are supplied with the EV Pro Car Charger. The standard charge lead is a single 32a gun for the single phase 7.3kW models that run on standard 230V AC 50HZ supplies (which covers most of the domestic houses). There are Single 32a or Duel 63a (2x 22kW) charge leads for the 22kW models that have 3 Phase, 415V AC 50HZ supplies (which is less than 5% of the domestic properties). It is the latest type 2 socket, designed for fast charging that conforms to IEC 62196-2.

The EV Pro Car Chargers are wall mounted and IP65 rated, (weatherproof) and are either 240/380/145mm and less than 5KG, 300/465/170mm, 9KG or 360/562/176mm, 16KG depending on your model. They can operate in temperatures of -25C to 50C and in humidity of 0-95% condensing with a IK10 rating, CE, SA8000 accredited & OZEV approved.

Your safety is our priority and the EV Pro Car Charger has Integrated RCBO Isolation which is Type A +6mA DC fault current (equivalent to type B), Over voltage protection, Under voltage protection, Over load protection, Short circuit protection, Earth leakage protection, Over-temp protection, Surge protection, PEN (Earth) fault protection internally and an Emergency stop button externally for your total peace of mind. Coupled with fitting a by a registered and qualified electrician, your safety is assured.

There are some more complex features that you can use to control the EV Pro Car Charger and take advantage of, such as off peak time shifting, a CT clamp for dynamic load management which monitors your homes electricity use and at peak times, it reduces the chargers load accordingly and it can be set up to work with your solar panels should you have them.

The EV Pro Car Charger is easy to use and can be CAT5 Ethernet or WIFI connected and used in either Plug & Charge mode with no app or software required or using the App, you are able to customise your charges & create charging records.

It is even supper efficient with a stand by power consumption less than 8W.
